An open terrace with harsh afternoon sun and little privacy - a space with potential waiting to be realised.
The terrace faced direct afternoon sun with no shade, overlooked by neighbouring buildings, and had never been lived in. The brief was to create an outdoor room that felt like an extension of the home - a place to slow down at the end of the day.
We layered planting at different heights to create privacy and dappled shade, introduced warm wood and natural stone to soften the hard concrete, and selected species that thrive in Hyderabad's heat - tall grasses for movement, broad-leaf plants for calm, and fragrant herbs within reach of the seating.
A calm outdoor room designed for everyday living - a place to breathe in the morning and unwind in the evening light.
